Sydney-sider Trent Grubel will be the first driver to race the Dallara F312/16 in the Australian Formula 3 Championship when he hits the track at Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round in February.

Grubel has confirmed he will be racing for Tim Macrow Racing in the latest model car to compete in the Championship’s 23-year history. The car has already had a shakedown run a State round at Wakefield Park and various practice days, but Grubel is looking forward to some serious competition when the Australian Formula 3 Championship kicks off.

When asked about what he is looking forward to the most about joining Australian Formula 3, Grubel said “I’m really looking forward to the competition”.

Like most racing drivers around the country, Grubel has had limited track time over the past couple of years due to the Covid pandemic, but has been working hard to keep himself sharp for the 2022 season. “I’ve been doing a lot of training, simulator work and boxing.” Grubel said.

Grubel will be holding back no punches once the 2022 season is underway with eyes focussed on race wins and consistency. “The main goal is to win but also to have consistent results and develop as a driver”. Grubel added.

For those wanting to see the Dallara F312/16 in action, it will hit the track for the first time in the Australian Formula 3 Championship on the Friday practice at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 18th of February.
