Brook Motorsport have announced they are returning to the Australian Formula 3 Championship in 2021 after acquiring the ex-Gilmour Racing Dallara F307. Coincidentally it is the very same car young Queenslander Rielly Brook had his first taste of Formula 3 in back in 2017.

After running a Mygale M07 in the Championship class and finishing an outstanding 3rd in their first campaign in 2019, Brook Motorsport switched to Prototype Sportscar racing during the severely interrupted 2020 season. But the allure of the most established internationally relevant wings and slicks category in the country proved too much with a swap to the Dallara chassis which young Brook has a fond attachment to.

“My first drive in formula 3 was in this car at the end of 2017, so I know the car and the pace it is capable of. I have fond memories of that weekend with Errol Gilmour giving me my first taste of the speeds of a formula 3 car, something I will always be grateful for.” Rielly Brook said.

When asked about his prospects for the 2021 season Rielly added “I would love to challenge for a win in 2021, which is something I missed out on in 2019. The final round at the bend is one I have my eyes set on, I enjoy the high speed, physical challenge of that track, which I was competitive at in 2019.”

Team owner George Brook is looking forward to the 2021 with the Dallara F307. “we hope to have Rielly right up there once we get the ’07 sorted, but also we are glad that Errol’s car is back where it belongs on the racetrack.”

The first round of the 2021 Australian Formula 3 Championship is set to take place at Sydney Motorsport Park in 9 weeks time on March 5-7.
