99 Motorsport is the first team to unveil their plans for the 2021 Australian Formula 3 Championship by upgrading to the Dallara F311 previously campaigned by Shane Wilson.

Young Queensland driver Ryan Astley drove 99 Motorsport’s Dallara F304 car in last year’s Championship and was extremely competitive in the National class, before the Covid pandemic put paid to any running this year.

Team owner and Director of 99 Motorsport Martin Astley is excited at Formula 3 returning to the track in 2021 to begin the chase for the Australian Formula 3 Championship. “We are coming back to Formula 3 due to the opportunity to purchase a 08/11 car.” Astley said. “Ryan is looking forward to driving the car, he has always wanted the opportunity to drive a F308/11, to be able to feel the extra downforce from the F304 is extremely exciting and he can't wait.”

Ryan has been keeping his skills sharp in 2020’s limited track action, by running a Porsche GT in selected local state rounds in Queensland but is keen to test the higher downforce Dallara as soon as possible. “Ryan's goal is to settle into the car and hopefully put his name on the championship trophy.”

The 2021 Australian Formula 3 Championship Calendar was recently confirmed to be 6 rounds across 4 states in what is a well space season of racing commencing in March at Sydney Motorsport Park.
