The 2020 Australian Formula 3 Championship has been further delayed due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic in the eastern states.

With the recent increase in Covid cases predominantly in Victoria, the accompanying border closures have resulted in the opening round of the Championship at Sandown Raceway being postponed until November 27th-29th. The current border closures along with the NSW recent announcements on 6-week restrictions on sports also have the round at Sydney Motorsport Park on September 25th-27th in jeopardy.

Formula 3 Management in conjunction with the Australian Motor Racing Series are committed to holding a Championship with as many rounds as possible once the border restrictions allow. "It's difficult to hold a series with teams from at least 4 different states when they aren't allowed to travel." Category Manager Ian Richards said. "We may be looking at a 3-round Championship in the last few months of the year at this rate, but our teams and drivers are ready to go once they get the word." Richards added.

The current revised calendar is constantly subject to change in the current environment and commences at Sydney Motorsport Park, though this is subject to border restrictions. The Championship will conclude at The Bend Motorsport Park.
