Three-time Australian Formula 3 National class champion Roman Krumins has announced he will line up for the multiple championship winning team Gilmour Racing at round 1 of the Australian Formula 3 Championship at Morgan Park.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge of the extra downforce the Dallara F311 produces and relish the opportunity to compete in the championship class." Krumins said.

The Queenslander has won a hat-trick of National Class Championships with reigning champions R-Tek Motorsport but is unsure how many rounds he will be able to compete this year with the Gilmour outfit. "We have some exciting news hopefully coming with an opportunity in the newest LMP3 car in Europe this year." Krumins added. "I'd certainly be happy to continue with Errol, as he would too, if Europe doesn't happen. Stay tuned."

When asked about his love of driving Formula 3 cars Krumins said "Well, they are just the fastest, most rewarding and best bang for buck car to race in Australia. To dive these cars at anywhere near their capability is a challenge that makes you focus and dig really deep within yourself to perform. That's what it's about for me."

Uncertainty still surrounds the opening round of the 2020 Australian Formula 3 Championship with the global events surrounding Covid-19. "We are monitoring the situation closely" category manager Ian Richards said. "Above all the safety of our teams and the community are of paramount importance."

Round 1 is still set to go ahead at Morgan Park Raceway on April 3rd-5th
