Gerrit Ruff has confirmed he will return in 2020 to try to erase last year’s bitter loss of the National Class title in the final race of the year.

Ruff looked set to claim his maiden Australian Formula 3 Nationals class title until a drive-line failure with 8 laps of the season remaining.

Despite the disappointment of 2019, Ruff’s love of driving Formula 3 is still strong, “Formula 3 equals the fastest and best circuit racing cars in the country, you can’t get better than wings and slicks, I love driving this type of race car.” Ruff said

With last year’s close year-long battle to the season’s end going R-Tek Motorsport’s Roman Krumins way, Ruff has one very clear goal for 2020, “I definitely hope for the National Class victory, if I can keep my car on track.” Ruff joked

In 2020 Australian Formula 3 will be part of a new TV deal that will see the category broadcast on both free-to-air and pay TV as well as online streaming through SBS HD TV (Speedweek), FoxSport 506, Kayo and internationally through Motorsport TV.

Round 1 takes place in sunny Queensland at Morgan Park Raceway on April 3rd-5th.
