John Magro has edged closer to the record number of consecutive wins with a Race 1 win at Round 4 of the Australian Formula 3 Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park. The R-Tek Motorsport driver was never headed coming in nearly 40 seconds clear of McDonald's Gilmour Racing's Josh Buchan. Gerrit Ruff was 3rd and best National Class car.

Further back all hell broke loose on lap 1 over Corporate Hill with 99 Motorsport's Ryan Astley running wide and spearing across turn 8 backwards, narrowly being avoided by Rielly Brook and Shane Wilson. R-Tek Motorsport's Roman Krumins and Andrew Roberts found their way through to capitalise.

Earlier in the day Magro continued his perfect form by taking his 4th straight All Properties Group Pole Position Award, Ruff was again the fastest National Class car.

Races 2 and 3 for the weekend are tomorrow where Magro can equal the record.
