Round 1 at Winton Motor Raceway saw a close contest in both Premier and National Classes, a contest that is set to continue this weekend at the Ipswich Festival of Cars for Round 2 of the Australian Formula 3 Premier Series this weekend at Queensland Raceway.

Premier Class will again be a battle between Jones Motorsport’s Harri Jones and Gilmour Racing’s Cameron Shields with the pair being only 9 points. Gilmour will also be running Chris Gilmour who will be hoping to upset the title contenders!

National Class is bolstered this weekend by locals Jason Hore and Blake Varney who will be hoping to kick start their campaigns with a strong performance. Fellow local Roman Krumins currently leads the series for R-Tek Motorsports ahead of South Aussie Gerrit Ruff and another Queenslander Shane Wilson with Bruce McKenzie close behind.

Krumins teammate Andrew Roberts will also be one to watch, after taking the point for Pole Position at Winton, his weekend fell apart with Mechanical issues – He will be hoping to get his season back on track, literally.

Practice starts Friday before Qualifying on Saturday morning, the weather is sure to throw up some excitement too with rain forecast for all 3 days.
