Fast-young Queensland drive Harri Jones is keen for the start of the 2018 Australian Formula 3 Premier Series.
Jones competed in the final round of the 2017 in preparation for his 2018 campaign and managed to come away with the Certica City of Goulburn Cup! When asked about his aspirations for this year Jones responded, “My goal is of course to win the championship and win as many races as possible”, he added “whilst also developing the car and myself as a better driver”.

Jones is hoping to compliment his Australian Formula title shot with an entry in the Australian Formula Ford Series in what is going to be a busy year! “Formula 3 cars are quite different to what I've driven. Having mainly competed in Formula Ford, with more power and lots of aero they are far superior cars and require a completely different driving style.

In addition to his 2017 racing Jones spent the summer racing in the MRF challenge. “The MRF challenge was great as it put me up against some of the best Junior drivers in the world. The series uses Dallara F3 chassis but does not have the same level of aero as the F308 I'll be racing this year. I learnt heaps and got to drive on some amazing tracks.” Jones finished in the top 5 on 3 occasions and finished 7th overall.

Jones is hoping his experience will take him overseas following similar paths as former Australian Formula 3 Champion James Winslow. “I'm hoping to move into Prototype racing in 2019, in LMP3 most likely in Asia, or wherever opportunities arise.

The 2018 season opener is at Winton Raceway on the 9-11 March.
