Harri Jones steps up to Formula 3

Young Queenslander Harri Jones is set to step up to the Australian Formula 3 Premier Series for the final round at Wakefield Park.

Jones has been racing for 2 years now having never raced karts with 2017 being his first complete season. Finishing 8th overall in the Australian Formula Ford Series, Jones’ best result in formula Ford was 3rd overall in the final round at Phillip Island.

Jones career highlights include winning the GT4 class of the Bathurst 12hr at the start of the year as well as many podiums and wins at state level Formula Ford.

As well as his Wakefield Park Formula 3 debut, Jones will be competing in the MRF series (the same series German Formula 4 Champion and current FIA Formula driver Australian Joey Mawson competed in last year) which begins this November. “The cars in the series are very similar to formula 3 cars so it will be great preparation for next year.”

Jones plans another year in Formula Ford next year as well as his first year in Australian Formula 3.

The final round of the Australian Formula 3 Premier Series in at Wakefield Park on October 20-22.
