(Version 3 - 26 October 2016)

This document is intended to provide guidance on the current state of progress regarding Formula 3 in Australia in 2017 and beyond. Information at this stage is subject to change.

Q: Will the Australian Formula 3 Premier Series operate in 2017?
A: Yes.

Q: Who will operate the series?
A: Formula 3 Management Pty Ltd (the current operator) is intending on conducting the series.

Q: How many events will run?
A: Formula 3 Management intends on running a minimum of 6 events, in three states.

Q: What will be the television package?
A: This is subject to confirmation at this stage.

Q: What is the technical platform?
A: It is intended to run the series as per the regulations in place, with only minor modifications (that is, a 2011-spec, 2007-spec, and 2001/2004-spec classes), and selected other invited cars.

The technical platform will remain unchanged until end-2019, in line the current FIA evolution of Formula 3.

Q: What are the minor modifications?
A: It is the intention to permit the 2008 through 2011-specification cars to fit optionally a “paddle shift” gear selector. Competitors that choose to run that system, will be required to run a control-system selected by F3 Management, and F3M will make appropriate parity arrangements to ensure paddle shift cars do not obtain a performance advantage over non-paddle shift cars.
